Cooperative Care Training

For dogs who struggle with handling, vet visits, or grooming, our cooperative care training provides invaluable support.

We believe dogs deserve to feel calm and safe during vet visits, grooming, and routine handling. Our approach teaches dogs to willingly participate in their care, reducing stress and anxiety while strengthening the bond between you and your dog.

What is Cooperative Care?

Cooperative care involves teaching your dog to actively engage in tasks, rather than feeling forced or fearful. These tasks can include grooming and other husbandry needs like nail trims, veterinary exams, or body handling. In addition to being safer for those handling your dog, this training gives dogs a sense of control, reducing anxiety and building trust, so they feel more comfortable in necessary care situations.

Why Cooperative Care Matters

Reduces Fear and Stress

By allowing your dog to participate in their care, we minimize the fear and anxiety that can come from restraint or unfamiliar handling.

Empowers Your Dog

Cooperative care gives your dog control, which reduces anxiety and builds confidence during vet visits or grooming.

Strengthens Your Bond

Teaching your dog to trust you with their care deepens the human-dog bond and makes everyday handling easier.

Improves Health Outcomes

Cooperative care makes routine vet visits and grooming less stressful, ensuring your dog receives the care they need, when they need it, without added trauma.

Ready to Empower Your Dog?

Help your dog feel more confident and comfortable during handling, grooming, and vet visits. If you’re a new client, we start with an in-person behavior evaluation to fully understand their needs and create the most supportive plan. If you’re an existing client, we can schedule your cooperative care session as long as it’s been less than less than 12 months since your last scheduled appointment. Let’s work together to reduce your dog’s stress and improve their quality of life!
